Catlett-which took place at his residence in this city on Sunday night, the 13th inst., between 10 and 11 o'clock, in the sixty-third year of his age. Although Mr. Catlett had been quite ill for a week its fatal termination was not suspected until Sunday morning and the news fell upon the ears of our citizens yesterday morning with shock that has cast a gloom over our community. Mr. Catlett was, we believe a native of Culpepercounty, and Staunton or more years ago and soon became an officer in the old Valley Bank. After the war he held for number of years a position in the National Valley Bank, and upon the organization of the Augusta National Bank, he received the appointment of Cashier, which position he held to the time of his sudden taking off. Soon after arrival in Staunton, he intermarried with Miss BettlaBreckenridge. In the death of Mr. Catlett our community has lost a most estimable and worthy citizen and his family a devoted husband and affectionate father, No more will his familiar form and genial face be seen in our midst, and how Lorely he will be missed by his wife, children and relatives can only be known to theSearcher of all hearts. A good man has been taken from us, but his good name still lives with us. His funeral will take place this morning at 10 b'clock from Trinity (Episcopal) Church.
