Description

Multiple contemporary newspaper accounts (Feb 11โ€“12, 1926) describe a run on the Commercial National Bank of Muskogee triggered by malicious rumors. The run was checked by large incoming deposits, community pledges of support, and a $500,000 shipment from the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City. There is no evidence the bank suspended payments or closed; it remained open and was strengthened by outside aid.
