A FORT ANN BANKING-ROUSE CLOSED. Whitehall, N. Y., Aug. 3.-The banking-house of John Hall & Co., at Fort Ann., controlled and chiefly owned by J. Melvin Adams, closed its doors yesterday. The cause of the failure is said to be injudicious loans. Mr. Adams has been manager and cashier for several years. He has been III for some time and confined to the house with nervous prostration. Orson Sheldon, of Fort Ann, has been appointed receiver, and the books are being examined. The capital is said not to exceed $5,000, and the liabilities are nearly $30.000.
