SILVERTON ITEMS. -0Special 'Phone to The Herald. SILVERTON, May 10.-The old charge against Cashier Munee, who was charged with accepting a deposit in the defunct Bank of Silverton aft. er he knew the bank was going to fall, was dismissed in district court this morning. Thomas Annear. the receiver reported that dividends of 23 per cent had been paid, that there was sufficient cash on hand at present to pay 5 per cent more, and that he hoped to pay 28 more in time.

Af fidavits have been filed to the effect that Binyon is insane. ) SILVERTON Sept. 22.-Receiver e Thomas Annear for the defunct Bank < of Silverton which failed about two years ago. made his reprt to Judge 1 Russell while at Silverton, showing that he had enough cash to pay 4 per cent more of the bank's indebtedness to depositors, and this the court or dered him to do. This will make 27 per cent of the total. Mr. Annear reports forty Denver lots in the assets and a claim against the Silver Ledge mine for $15,000. which he regards as 3 doubtful. It is probable that the lots will pay 3 per cent more and should t the $15,000 be made available it will pay 15 per cent more. 1 DENVER, Sept. 22.-The special 1 grand jury ordered to look into the affairs of the Denver Savings and Western banks began its work this r morning at the county court house.
