TUCUMCARI HOME IS DESTROYED BY FIRE For a Time It Was Thought a Man Was Asleep in the House. Tueumcari, N. M., June 12.-Fire, shortly before midnight destroyed the home of C. L. Shelton in the east part of town. The house was in flames when the fire was discovered. It was thougth at first that Mr. Shelton was asleep inside, the rest of the family having gone east on a visit, and herbic efforts were made to extinguish the flames. However, investigation disclos A the fact that he had taken a room at a down town hotel. The building was entirely consumed. Insurance covered about half the loss. The second meeting of the corporation of stockholders of the defunes International Bank of Commerce of J'ueumcari, was held in the office of George W. Evans, jr. Recently claims against the bank were settled by the receiver by turning over to certain stockholders of the bank the fine office building formerly used by the bank, the consideration being $35.000. Plans for the handling of the property are said to be rapidly maturing and frequent meetings are being held for this purpose. The building occupies one of the best locations in Tueumeari. Fred White and Miss Mvrtle Hyder were married by judge E. E. Winters. Both are well known in Tucumeari, the groom being a Quay county official. They will make their home in this city. The exterior woodwork of the Vorenberg hotel is being repainted and revarnished.

Jones, Receiver of the International Bank of Commerce of Tucumcari, New Mexico, under the power of chattel mortgage given by H. S. Burnham and W. E. Mundell to International Bank of Commerce of Tucumcari, New Mexico, dated Nov. 4th, 1911, and recorded on the 23rd day of November, 1911, in book 8 of Chattel Mortgages, page 151, Records of Quay county, New Mexico, given to secure a note of even date therewith for $1381.15 with interest from date until paid at 10 per cent per annum, and ten per cent of the amount thereof attorney's fees in case of legal proceedings for collection thereof, which mortgage conveyed the property hereinafter described for sale, will on the 39th day of July, A.
