Bank Receiver Wins Judgment
Stockholder Ordered To Pay $2,040 Plus Costs
A judgment for a total of $2,148.20 was filed yesterday in United States District Court, New York City, against Archibald M. Dingwall of 59 Crestwood Avenue, Crestwood, in a suit growing out of liquidation of the now insolvent Crestwood National Bank of Tuckahoe.
Frank H. Mackintosh, receiver of the bank, started suit Jan. 7 through his attorney, John C. Delaney, alleging that Mr. Dingwall has failed to pay an assessment of $2,040 on stock of the bank.
Because of the insolvency of the institution the Comptroller of the Currency has ordered that each stockholder pay an assessment of $40 per share. The par value is $100. Mr. Dingwall is the owner of 51 shares, the complaint states.
The judgment was taken by default as no answer was made to the allegations. In addition to the amount asked, the judgment includes interest of $86.70 and court costs of $21.50.
