yesterday, shaking hands with old friends. Born Friday afternoon, August 27. to Mr. and Mrs. Fred H. Newton, a daughter. Al Gleason, meat cutter at Lee and Son, went to Delta this morning for a short visit. Daniel Kirby, the well known mining man, is back from one of his far western trips. Levi Greer, of Denver, is visiting his friend John J. Lumsden today, en route home form a trip to the coast. The Sentinel's bulletins on the fight today attracted widespread attention, being read by hundreds of people. Captain Noble, a Democratic war horse from the Plateau, is in the city today in attendance upon the session of the county central committee. Then Sharp chief clerk at the Winnipeg Indian agency in northeastern Nebraska, is visiting his parents Prof. and Mrs. S. Z. Sharp,of Fruita. The maximum temperture yesterday was 86 degrees. The weather forecast for 36 hours ending 6 D. m. Sunday. is partly cloudy tonight and Sunday. Dr. Fisher goes to Glenwood Springs tonight to spend Sunday with his family. When he returns he will bring Mrs. Fisher with him to remain at home. Mrs. E. D. Burgess, of Webster City, Iowa. the old home of the Arthurs, stopped in this citv this morning for a short visit with Mr. and Mrs. Arthur en route home from Oregon. W. C. Mr. Vorbeck contemplates the erection of a handsome home on these lots in the near future. Dr. Ursa S. Abbot. one of the city's popular young physicans will leave Sunday night for St. Louis and other 1 points east. Dr. Abbott while east will visit his old home in Ohio and 1 those who know him best say he will not return "alone." He will be absent about one month. I Prof. F. A. Disreali, of Denver, a former well known musical genius. is a visitor after an absence of many years. The old timers all recognize Prof. Disraeli a characater who was the means of much entertainment years ago Prof. Disraeli owns an orchard of ten acres on Orchard Mesa. The Democratic county central committee is in session this afternoon at the court house. Nearly all the members of the committee are present and a very animated meeting is being held.
