AND CLOSE The Hershey State Bank failed to open its doors Wednesday morning of last week and on Saturday the news reached here that the Farmers Bank of Sutherland had been closed. Few people from this immediate vicinity did their banking at either of the banks but a good many people from the western part of the county were depositors in the Farmers Bank at Sutherland. The report Monday was that depositors were making a run on the remining bank in Sutherland, The American State Bank, but the desire to draw out their deposits lessened toward evening when it was learned that the bank was paying off all who appeared. The failing of the two banks will greatly cripple the business of Hershey and Su therland and surrounding territory until the situation is cleared up.
