SEEKING FUNDS IN FAILED BANK Board Demands Treasurer Secure County Money in Defunct Institution at Stella. Action was taken by the county board this afternoon, demanding that the county treasurer take steps without further delay to secure for the county the funds that the county had on dpeosit in the Farmers State Bank of Stella, which was taken over by the banking commissioner on June 3, this year. The county board, this year, before depositing money in county banks, did not depend on the guaranty fund but also insisted on a bond being filed by the banks. The county treasurer was instructed to make demand, and failing to get results, to institute suit against the bank and the bondsmen for the amount that was on deposit when the bank was taken over. The motion, which was carried unanimously, follows: It was moved by Buchholz, seconded by Morris, that the county clerk be instructed to notify the county treasurer that, in accordance with verbal suggestions made on several occasions, and in accordance with the written opinion of the attorney general already shown to said county treasurer, that the said county treasurer be instructed to make demand, without further delay, from the receiver of the Farmers' State Bank of Stella and from the signers of the bond for said bank as a depository for funds, that the amount due county the county as shown by the county if such sum is not paid, that suit will be instituted to recover from said its receiver and its bondmen, bank, such amount due.

It was moved by Buchholz and seconded by Morris that the County Clerk to be instructed to notify the County Treasurer that in accordance with the written opinion of the Attorney General already shown said County Treasurer be instructed to make demand without further delay, from the receiver of the Farmers State Bank of Stella, Nebraska, and from the signers of the bond for said bank as a depository for county funds, that the amount due the county as shown by the county treasurer's books, together with interest at 2 per cent to be paid over to said treasurer without delay, and that if such sum is not paid that suit be instituted to recover from said bank, its receiver, and its bondsmen such amount due. The motion carried all members voting yes. Mother's Pension Renewal The orders of the County Court granting mother's pensions were received and examined by the Board and it was regularly moved which carried that same be appróved and the county clerk directed to issue warrants on the Mothers Pension Fund of the county to pay same when due as follows: Jennie Dunn $20.00 per month for six months, commencing September 4, 1929. Effie Slagle $20.00 per month for six months commencing August 15th. 1929. Approval of Bond of Jess Buchholz. Road Overseer The bond of Jess Buchholz, anpointed road overseer in road district No. 1 Ohio precinet was received and examined by the Board and it was regularly moved. seconded and car ried that the bond be approved. Time of Next Meeting It was regularly moved, which carried that when this Board adjourns, we adjourn to meet August 24th at 9 o'clock A. M. Funds From Farmers State Bank of Stella. It was moved by Buchholz and seconded by Morris that the County Clerk be instructed to notify the County Treasurer that in accordance with the written opinion of the Attorney General already shown said County Treasurer and with verbal suggestions made on several occasions, that the said county treasurer be instructed to make demand with out further delay, from the receiver of the Farmers State Bank of Stella, Nebraska, and from the signers of the bond for said bank as a depository county funds, that the amount due the county as shown by the county treasurer's books, together with interest at 2 per cent be paid over to said treasurer without delay, and that if such sum is not paid that suit be instituted to recover from said bank, its receiver, and its bondsmen such amount due.
