Three Companies. The Idaho Springs News of Friday says; F. W. Hinrod and Lobe H. Hanchett, of that place, have deposited 850,000 in the First National bank of Idaho Springs for a controlling interest in the United Light and Power company of Georgetown. The control has been held for several years by the Bank of Clear Creek of Georgetown, which closed its doors during the panic of 1823. Disposition of its holdings of light company stock will enable the bank to make a complete and full settlement of all outstanding accounts. The light company has been in charge of Fred P. Dewey who will remain as manager under the new owners. The plant has been greatly enlarged during the last year and the Cascade Electric company, an anxiliary has been formed, which is furnishing light for Idaho Springs. The Cascade company is now building a second line from Georgetown which will be extended into Gilpin county for the purpose of furnishing power to the mines. It is also reported that the electric light company now operating in Gilpin county will be merged with the Cascade and United Power and that their allied interes's will be forwarded in harmony. The plant will be enlarged thrae times its present capacity.
