Bank Receiver Apppointed
Geo. I. Parker of New Castle, state bank commissioner for this district, was appointed receiver for the Oakdale and Antelope County banks Monday L. O. Schoenthal will have charge of collecting notes due the banks. Chas Stone will also be here at times to at tend to business relative to the banks The work of winding up the affairs of the banks will not require the full tim. of any of these men and they will only be in Oakdale when needed here. Miss Ruth Herrmann will be at the Oakdale Bank to receive and file claims. De positors nave until the 8th of Decem ber to file claims.
WOMAN'S CLUB NOTES
The 33rd annual convention of the Nebraska Federation of Women's Clubs will Le held in Omaha, on Oct. 23, 24, and 25. 1928 by invitation of the Omaha Woman's Club, the sessions being held at the First M E Church, with beadquarters at the Fontanelle Hotel. At the last meeting of the Oakdale Woman's Club, Mrs. S F Sharpless was elected delegate to the convention, with Mrs Chas. D.Witt as alternate. At the county convention at Elgin, Mrs. C H. Ray was elected as county delegate to the state convention. Mrs J I. Stringfellow was elected county president instead of Mrs. J. S. Stringfellow as was reported. The foliowing is the program for the Woman's Club Oct. 29th. Once in Four Years. OBITUARY
John H. Nies was born Dec. 2, 1861 in the state of New York, near Buffalo, and died Oct. 1928 at San Francisco, Calif., where be had gone to spend the winter; aged 66 years, months and 10 days. Cause of his death was apoplexy, his illness being only few days. At the age of five he came with his parents, who aettled in Dhkota county, Nebraska; and in March 1878 settled in Antelope county two and one half miles north of Oakdale, where he resided with his parents many years John Was one of nine children, four boys and five girls. His parents, one sister and one brother preceeded him in death. On Sept. 4, 1892 he was united in marriage to Ella Buffington of Meadow Grove, Nebr. To this union was born one son who died in infancy. Ella Nies, his wife, died Sept 7, 1914. On Nov. 13, 1922 he was united in marriage to Blanch Brook of Sioux City, Is which place was their home at the time of his death. There remains to mourn his depar ture his wife; four sisters: Mrs Cor delia Wilson and Mrs. Nettie Bickford of Oakdale, Nebr.; Mrs. Mary Terwilliger of Wakefield, Nebr Mrs. Jul is Trube of Plainview, Nebr and two brothers: George E. Nies of Oakdale and S I. Nies of Neligh: and several nephews and nieces and many friends and neighbors.
He was baptised in the Luthersn church when boy. John was R fine man, good and clean in his habits of life
Funeral services were held in the M E. church at Oakdale Thursday afternoon, Oct 18th, Rev. Kauffroth officiat ing Interment was to the Oakdale cemetery.

OBITUARY
Darman L. Wilson was born near M borhead, Ia on Febr 3, 1884 and died Oct. 16, 1928 at the Methodist hospital in Omaha. His illness started with a cold and developed into complications resulting in meningitis. At the age of two years be, with his parents, moved to Oakdale, Nebr where he grew to young manhood On April 13, 1904 be was united in marriage to Blanche Stroud. About 1907 they moved to the vicinity of Glenwood, Ia where they remained unti 1918 when they returned to Nebraska, near Tilden and Oakdale until the year 1920. Then they moved to Shenandoah, Ia. where they have lived since. For the past six years he had been employed at the Burlington depot as clerk; where he made many friends by bis pleasant and friendly disposition He is survived by his wife; two daughters, Wilma of Lincoln, Nebr. and Wanda at home; one son, Nathan, of Bedford, Ia. -two children died in infancy-bis mother, Mrs. Emily Wil. son of Stanton, Nebr three sisters: Mrs. Ben Nelson and Mrs. Charles Oakdale, Nebr. and A. D. Reed of Stanton, Nebr.; three brothers: Chas of Tilden, Nebr. Or lando of Fremont, Nebr. and Lee of Stanton, Nebr Two sisters and B brother have preceeded him in death. The funeral service was held at the home in Shenandoah Thursday afternoon, Oct. 18 at three o'clock. Inter ment was in the Rose Hill cemetery of Shenandoah
