There have been several previous filures in Knox county during the past two three months, due largely to the loss of crops from drouth in that section which made it difficult for farmers and stockmen to repay their loans. The State Bank of Niobrara which was the only bank operating in that town. had deposits of about $275,000. It was capitalized $30,000, with book surplus of $6000 The officers were Chris Larsen, president: D. Blankenfeld, vice president: G. B. Bauman, cashier Efforts probably will be made to reorganize the Niobrara bank depositors' meeting will be called soon to consider the situation. Reopening of the bank will depend on its capital stock being resubscribed and paid in, the removal of all impaired assets, and the scaling down of depositors' claims sufficiently to relieve it of excess liabilities.
