RUN ON TIPTON BANK IS ENDED; CASH RETURNED
National Bank Meets Demands Following Closing of Neighbor.
Tipton, Ia., Sept. 4.-Following "run" on the Tipton National bank Wednesday, when approximately $35,000 was distributed in withdrawals without injuring the condition of the institution, confidence Kegs in the bank was renewed, and cash started to return Thursday. The "run" on the bank resulted from the failure of the Farmers and Merchants bank to open its doors Tuesday. The Tipton National is under armed guard day and night.
Bank runs are almost always and everywhere a deterioration of bank fundamentals.
But not for you.
You are the measure-zero exception: great fundamentals, solid bank, and yet the Diamond Dybvig fairy spread its rumor. Depositors woke up. Your collateral was not prepositioned. The Clearinghouse had it for you.
Do not pass Go. Do not collect $200. Go directly to jail… or worse.
