BANK RECEIVER HERE Rollin W. Smith, -0 State bank examiner, who has been in charge of the Bank of Lynch, left Friday. J. Stauffer of Polk, Nebr., came on Wednesday to take charge of the bank affairs. He will eventually be assistant receiver of the bank, under receiver Luikhart. The exact date of the depositors and creditors meeting is not known at this time future. but it will likely be held in the near CAR OF OATS We expect a car load of oats on track the last of the week. If taken from the car will sell at 83c per bushel. F. U. Co-Op. Assn. Dr. and Mrs. Kris and daughter went to Wahoo and Weston, Sunday. Miss Betty, who had visited at the Basta home at Bee, returned with them, accompanied by Miss Vivian Basta and Miss Florence Kris of Weston, who are visiting at the Kriz home this week. Cecil Landis and family spent Sunday with friends at Orchard. Mrs. Raymond Douglas and children accompanied Dr. and Mrs. ira to Sioux City Friday, where they met Mr. Dougles. They accompanied him home to St. Paul, Minn. Dr. Sissakian of Verdel was here Monday on business. Mrs. Howell and Frank are visiting Mrs. Kate Bernard at Niobrara, this week. Hurley Binkerd of Verdel spent Sunday at Mrs. Harriet Binkerds. Frank Fisher and Chas. Mulhair jr. arove to Winner Monday. Eddie Mulhair went to Randolph Sunday to bring Mrs. Mulhair home, after a visit there with her sister. Patsy Mulhair was on the sick list, Monday. Cobb Wildermuth and family of Sioux City, Mrs. Mail Lippert and Mrs. Fode of Tripp, S. N., spent Sunday at the Fred Sinkbier home. Rosie Rochadle spent the weekend in Norioik, where she visited her sister. Chas. Roe and family drove up from Bennington to spend several months here. They are living in the Duffy residence, across from the Commercial Hotel. Frank Higgins drove to Omaha on Friday on business, returning home Tuesday. He was accompanied by Mr. and Mrs. Wallace Courtney and Mr. and Mrs. Wait Weache and family. John and R. H. Lienhart of Chambers, Ed Lienhart of Winner, Carl Neison and family of Spencer and Axel Julin and family of Bristow were Sunday guests at the Frank Lienhart home here. Mrs. Dena Brady of Dorsey called on Mrs. Harriet Binkerd, Sunday. Virginia Laros and daughters Neis Olson and Gaylord Metcalf of Sioux City spent Sunday with Mrs. Harriet Binkerd. Mrs. George Rock is reported to be quite ill. Mrs. Mary Orr visited Thursday and Friday at W. C. Fenner's. Mrs. Mary Orr left Sunday for her home at Niobrara. Mr. and Mrs. Guy Melsha returned to Lincoin, Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. John Fowler and Margaret of Lincoln spent Monday night at the home of Mr. and Mrs. R. H. Harris. They were enroute home from the Black Hills. Mr. and Mrs. H. P. Rankin of Lincoln called at the R. H. Harris home Wednesday, enroute home from a trip to the Black Hills. Mr. Rankin is Past Grand Master of the IOOF of Nebraska. Julius Cronin of O'Neill called on friends here Tuesday evening. Mr. and Mrs. Donald Dwigan and son were Sunday guests of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Dwigans at Orchard. Mr. and Mrs. W. C. Fenner called at Geo. Rocks Sunday afternoon. Geo. Rocks have had the misfortune to lose some cattle on poisoned cane. Billie Schiessler, Joe Malone and Albert Jehorek left Wednesday for North Dakota, expecting to find work. Melva Kear, a cousin, and Henry Bailey, a brother, came Wednesday for a visit at Lafe Bailey's. Miss Effie Neely went to Verdel Wednesday to visit her friend, Diamer Christensen, a few days. COURT HOUSE ACTIVITIES petition was filed in the District Court last week, asking for the appointment of H. Luikart as receiver of the Bank of Lynch. The petition was sent by Attorney General Sorensen. Hill, former county survey. of Boyd county, was visiting about the court house Wednesday. He is here from Indiana Harbor, Ind., for short visit. William H. Robinson, receiver of the First Bank of Naper, has filed an action in foreclosure, asking for judgment mortgage of $460, given by Robert A. Sotltenberg and wife, covering lots thirteen and fourteen in block twenNaper Jakob Zimbleman filed foreclosure proceedings last Friday against Sarah Thornburg and others, asking for the payment of mortgage of $1000, which covers lots nine, ten, eleven and twelve in block six, west addition to Butte. Frank Gustin is the plaintiff in suit filed in the District against Stasia Taylor, in which he seeks to collect $4000 and interest claimed due on two notes given by une defendant. The southeast quarter of the southwest quarter and the southwest quarter of the southeast quarter of section 2, and the northeast quarter of section 11, 33, 12, was attached. H. Luikart, receiver of the Nebraska State Bank of Long Pine, has filed an action in the County Court asking for judgment of $321.33 and interest against Harlan Reber. The amount is claimed due on note given by the defendant. The matter will come up for hearing Septemon ber 7th. Charles Putnam has filed petition in probate court, asking for the probate of his brother, Wayne Putnam, deceased, and also asks that the Court appoint his father, Putnam as administrator. Hearing has been set for August 22, at o'clock. Four judgments were entered in County Court during the past week by Judge Adamson. They were in the following cases, and in each instance the judgment was entered as against the defendant: Sell vs. Farmers Poultry Co., Louis Tanner Farmers Poultry Co., $86.66; William H. Robinson, Receiver of the First National Bank of Naper, vs. Ivan Hanson, $79.87; N. Sieler vs. George W. Dawson $199.93. In the semi-annual division of the state appropriation money received from the state, only two school districts in Boyd county failed participate in the cut. These two districts did not hold the required number months of school during the past year. Part of the fund is divided equally among the different distriets, which gives the small school an advantage, and the balance is divided according the number of pupils, giving an advantage to the schools with the larger enrollment. Deputy Treasurer Lyman Wills this short tion trip to Illinois. Forrest Lear, special master, was here Tuesday from Norfolk, to conduct sale of land which had been foreclosed in the District Court of the United States in the District of Nebraska, Norfolk division. The land was the west half of section 51, 34, 14, and was foreclosed in the case of the Aetna Life Insurance Co. vs. Robert C. Hawkins and others. The plaintiff was the purchaser, bidding $14,000. The Citizens National Bank of Norfolk was the final owner of the land.
