BURTON NEWS Chester Farrin is seriously sick at this time with the flu. Alvie Philben made business trip to Butte Wednesday. Wm. Wiley is again confined to his home with second attack of flu. Lloyd Haas was visitor at the home of his Lee Hutchinson Monday. John and Flannigan, Stuart bankers, were here from Saturday until Tuesday on business. E. Logan and John Stephen came down from Springview on business mission Friday of last week. A. E. Stephens and family tended the funeral of Mr. Stephcousin at Saturday. The villge board informs us that they are appointing village marshal. Better drive slow if you want trouble. Jamison was appointed receiver of the Burton State bank and business adjustments may be made at this institution now. The village board of Burton will pay a reward for information as to who has been cutting trees in the Burton park recently. The Alvie Philben family have moved their household goods from Winner, to Burton and pect to make this place their home. Mrs. Hazel Libolt returned Burton last week from the Stuart hospital, where she had been taking treatments. She is much proved in health. Miss Caroline Millard accom. panied Miss Elsie Gaskill home Friday night to spend the week end in Burton. Miss Millard one of Miss Gaskill's pupils. Mr. and Mrs. Earl Greiner of Gordon were Monday visitors at the home of the latter's sister, Mrs. Lee Hutchinson. Mrs. Greiner was formerly Miss Alvina lingsworth, of Springview Lewis and daughter nabelle, Geo. Wilkinson and Mrs. Wm. Gardner drove to Merrian, last Thursday for consultation with physician regarding the health of some of the party. Ben Welbourn, the SpringviewBurton mail carrier. was here Tuesday, after a long siege of the flu. It seems good to see him again. Just like missing old Santa at Christmas time to have Ben off the mail route. The ice harvest is on in Burton this week. Ogden and H Horton filling good sized houses. understand that others intend to fill smaller houses, so Burton should not want for ice next summer. Mr. and Mrs. J. Jamison attended the funeral of Clarence near Wewela last Thurs day. Mr. Wales died suddenly from an attack of appendicitis. Mr. Wales and Mr. Jamison brothers-in-law. The Wales family were formerly residents of this neighborhood and many friends extend their sympathy. Interment was in the Colome cemetery.
