A run was made on the Sawyer State Bank Monday morning which tried the metal of that institution most sorely. Many of the farmers, who had heard the report that the bank was about to fail, came in bright and early and when the doors were thrown open at nine o'clock, lined up and demanded their money. Some of the business men became alarmed and did likewise. Thousands of dollars were handed out in the forenoon, and when it was seen that the cash was running short, Cashier Mortenson sent to Minot and several thousands of dollars were in readiness. The run stopped about noon, when it was learned that the report that the bank was in an unstable condition, proved to be false. The following day many of those who took their deposits out, returned them with additional money. Cashier Mortenson was seen by an Independent representative and he stated that at no time has the bank been in an unstable condition, bnt that the Sawyer
