CORRESPONDENCE SAWYER NEWS Mrs. H. D.. Hodges left Wednesday for Van Hook where she will spend the winter with her sons. Mrs. E.E. Williams spent last week visiting friends in Minot. Mr. and Mrs. Julius Erickson and Mrs. Jas. Larson were in Minot /last Friday. Archie Johnson of Minot visited relatives here Sunday. Mrs. J. F. Booth is in Velva this week for medical treatment. She is better at this writing but has been ailing for some time. Ray Towns and Miss Elsie Ruth drove to Velva last Wednesday evening and up and got married and never said a word about it, till afterward. Well, we have decided to let it pass as are the very folks in this have best time, young grown they up around the among neighborhood here both and are starting a home of their own under very favorable circumstances. They will live on the Britton farm on North Prairie. Congratulations. A parcel shower was held Tuesday afternoon at the Ruth home for Mrs. Ray Towns. Many useful articles were in the shower. W. S. Kenaston has moved to the Art Sillman home. A party was held at the Congregational church last Friday evening. to complimentary was here packing Mrs. their Listerud, furniture who to ship to Elliott, N. D., where Mr. Listerud has a position in a bank at that place. The Syverson family moved to Minot this week where they will make their home for the present. Mr. Van Sickle, receiver of the closed Sawyer banks, was here looking after business last Thursday. State the opened The Northwestern in Tofflemire building Bank and has unis doing a nice business. We derstand another will be opened soon in the other bank building. Let 'em come, we still have a little money left. J. C. Oard was buried here last Thursday. We did not learn any of the particulars of his death but suppose it was old age as he had lived about four score years. Mr. Oard died at his home in Logan. The Oard- family were-among the early settlers having proved up a homestead 3 miles north of Sawyer in about 1900, after this he conducted a store here for a few years and about 10 years ago moved to Logan, where he had a general store till a short time ago
