NATIONAL BANK RECEIVER WILL BE PROTECTED Citizens Who Order Him Out of Town Warned Against Interference Fargo, N. D., April 16-(P) Authorities of Griggs county will see to it that A. J. Biewer, receiver in the closed First National Bank of Hannaford, N. D., is not molested if he disobeys the warning of 150 citizens of the town who Thursday ordered him to leave town within five days, Seth W. Richardson, United States attorney here, said today. Mr. Biewer announced Friday that he intended to come to Fargo today to confer with Mr. Richardson. He had not arrived this morning and Mr. Richardson had received no word from him. "If the facts of the case as related are correct," Mr. Richardson said, "state and Griggs county authorities will deal with any person or persons who interfere with Mr. Biewer in the performance of his duties as an officer of the federal government." If action is taken against Mr. Biewer, Mr. Richardson said, indictments by a federal grand jury will be asked. Confirming the reports that he had been ordered to leave town, Mr. Biewer said Friday night that he would take no action until he had conferred with Mr. Richardson. As receiver of a national bank, Mr. Biewer holds the same status as a United States marshal, authorities state, and an act such as is attributed to the delegation at Hannaford would constitute an attempt to intimidate a federal officer.

STATE BRIEFS Superior court in Los Angeles gives Charlie Chaplin until Thursday to answer divorce complaint of his wife.
