8 Mississippi Banks Close Their Doors; 5 Are in Greenwood JACKSON, Dec. Eight banks closed their doors in Mississippi Saturday. Three of the banks were small institutions in scattered parts of the state five of them were located in Greenwood, where depositors started runs on the banks after the Wilson Banking Company, with resources of $1,777,000, failed to open Saturday. It is one of the world's great sensational conversions. as solid and effectual as it was sensational. It stands forever associated with this city where Paul began his European ministry It is linked with the great Epistle to the Phillippians which Paul wrote from Rome durinx the period of his own later imprisonment It is an inspiration The man who could sing and pray in the darkness of the night and of the inner prison. with his feet fast in the stocks, surely had warrant for his words concerning rejoicing in the Lord Prayer is associated always with thanksgiving and it is through prayer and thanksgiving that peace comes to the souls of men. The prayer that Paul makes for these Philippians is surely the prayer of deepest benediction that man could make for his fellow men. Pct. of Collections In Bank Paid Savings Legal Statement Shows mization for All Services Itemization of expense in connection with the liquidation of the closed Goldsboro Savings and Trust Company made in legal statement published in this issue of the The statement is published in compliance with an act of the last general assembly requiring full publicity on bank liquidations. The bank closed December 1930 and statement is for the period from the closing to June past. Total collections to June by the bank receiver are listed as $77,888.84 Of the amount collected. percent was paid to attorneys for vices connection with the liquidation. Independent auditors were paid .68 of one percent of collections for their services; department auditors were paid .12 of one percent; all ditors .80 of one percent. K.
