Gastonia Bank Soon May Open Boyce Intimates That First National May Open Without Restrictions. Sept 2.-Intimation was given an encouraging statement issued this afternoon by N. Boyce, president of the First National bank, that plan for the reopening of the bank on an restricted basis would probably be submitted to authorities of the Federal Treasury department in the near future. The statement carried no defiword the bank's plans, but Mr Boyce believe that within reasonable time the bank will have something to submit that will meet the approval of the authorities Washington and of our stockholders and depositors The bank has been operating under conservator since the national bank holiday March last. The statement went on to say that the improved the local textile industry had serv. ed the position the bank with regard the possibilities early unrestricted reopening and to that the bank had operated profit under its conservatorship thus far
