Description

The Independence Trust Co. was placed on restricted operations after the 1933 bank holiday (systemic). It never reopened as a going bank: plans to merge into a new national bank failed and the institution was wound up/liquidated in mid-1934 (dividend paid June 26, 1934; liquidation/receivership activity in July 1934) and announced to be wound up by September 1934. No discrete depositor run on this specific bank is described in the articles (events stem from the 1933 banking holiday and subsequent restrictions/liquidation).
