Description

Newspaper articles (all dated 1930-11-21) describe heavy withdrawals/a run on the Citizens Bank of Bryson City leading the bank to close its doors that day. Reports mention consolidation/merger plans with the Bryson City Bank and that the closing was to protect depositors; no clear statement that the bank reopened or was placed in receivership. Because a run precipitated suspension and later outcome (reopening or permanent closure) is not clearly stated in these clippings, I classify as run_suspension_unsure.
