E. H. Luikart Sues Bank Stockholders BEATRICE, July 3.-E. H. Luikart, state bank receiver, has brought action for $17,437.50 against the stockholders of the Farmers State bank of Cortland. Named in the petition were the institution's 15 stockholders. The suit is based on the stockholders liability up to 100 per cent of the face yalue of their stock in case of bank failure.

According to the Beatrice Sun the state bank receiver Mr. Luikhart filed suit against stockholders of The Farmers State Bank at Cortland. What we can not understand is, why all these stockholders who paid the 100% liability, are included in this suit We are glad that no accidents have been reported with traffic on the highway. Watch the stop signs at the corner. The engraving on the silver cup presented to the Cornhusker Queen, Miss Leota Young at the opening of the new highway last Saturday, was done by our local jeweler, Mr. Frommer. Our youngest son Clarence and wife and John Valek and Miss Glenna Mutchmore of Liberty, visited with us Sunday night. County sheriff Tom Dunn of Beatrice was in town Monday. Floyd Miltenberger left Wednes day for Wayne, Nebraska and will return with family, who have been visiting there. John B. Sagehorn passed away at his home near Clatonia Tuesday at the age of 60 years.

E. H. Luikhart, state bank receiver, filed suit for $17,437.90 against the stockholders of the Farmers' State Bank of Cortland in district court Saturday, the action being based on the stockholders' liability up to 100 per cent of the face value of their stock in the event of bank failure. All of the bank's fifteen stockholders were named in the petition, the largest holder of stock being Mrs. Anna M. Schultz. Mrs. Schultz holds 56 shares and as guardian for her three children Viola, Pearl and Lillian Schultz, has eustody of an additional 124 shares.

BANK BACKERS SUED A suit for $17,437.90 against the stockholders of the Farmers' State bank of Cortland was filed Saturday in district court by E. H. Luikart, state bank receiver. The action is based on the stockholders' liabilty up to 100 percent of the face value of their stock in event of bank failure. The bank's debts at this time amount to $84,909.
