EVENTS Principal Happenings Over the State Told in Short Paragraphs District conferences of the Meth odist Episcopal Church, South, in the bounds of the Mississippi and North Mississippi annual conferences, will be held as follows: Grenada district Rev. The highest honor that Webb school at Bell Buckle has to bestow upon her graduates has just been handed to Andrew Fant, a Macon boy. This is being elected one of the four who are to deliver the final debate at the close of the school. The two ies of the institution, the Platonic and the Hamilton, each year choose two from among their number to this position and in so doing confer upon these the highest honor and praise that it is the school's give, for the requirments are that the debaters be students who have made a splendid record throughout their time at Webb. A series of Presbyterial meetings will be held throughout the state, beginning April 17. The first meeting will be held at Yazoo City April 17 to April 19. The Mississippi Presbyterial will meet at Natchez April 19 to 21; the auxiliary of the Meridian Presbyterial at Laurel, April 24 to 26; East Mississippi at Okolona, April 26 to 28, and North Mississippi at Holly Springs from May 1 to May 3. The citizens along the lines of the Delta Southern and the Webb branch and from Greenwood held a meeting with the attorney and receiver of C. & G. railroad and the railroad commissioners at Schlater with reference to devising some means of operating the Webb branch. which is to be sold as junk some time in May, according to an order of the court. Trial of the anti-trust suit of the State of Mississippi against the Mobile & Ohio, the Southern and other railways, which has been going on for nearly three weeks in the chancery court of Lauderdale county, has been adjusted by Chancellor George C. Tann, to be resumed on three weeks' notice to the litigants. In order to raise funds for the general fund of the Biloxi City Hospital, the Women's Auxiliary of that institution has decided upon something never held in Biloxi before.
