SUICIDE CAUSE OF A RUN ON HUMBOLDT BANK SAN FRANCISCO, June 4.- (Associated Press by Federal Wireless.)- As soon as the news of the suicide of President George H. Lucksinger, of the Humboldt Savings bank, spread abroad nervous depositors started an incipient run on the Humboldt bank. Approximately $160,000 was withdrawn during the day but the bank examiners declared the institution was in safe and sound condition.

SUICIDE STARTS BANK RUN Nervous Depositors Withdraw $160,000 From Frisco Institution. San Francisco, June 5.-Nervous depositors on hearing of the suicide of George H. Luchsinger, president of the Humboldt Savings bank, one of the largest financial institutions in the city, started an incipient run on the bank. Approximately $160,000 was drawn and all checks were promptly paid by the tellers. At the request of the officials Bank Examiner W. R. Williams, who pronounced the bank entirely sound only a month ago, made a re-examination and then issued an official declaration that he found the bank's affairs Thoroughly safe.

SAN FRANCISCO, June 3.-(Associated Press by Federal Wireless) George H. Luchsinger, president of the Humboldt Savings Bank, committed suicide here today by inhaling gas. When discovered the body was still warm, indicating that the deed had been committed but a short time. Luchsinger had been in ill health for some time. As soon as the news of the suicide spread abroad, nervous depositors started an incipient run on the Humboldt bank. Approximately $160,000 was withdrawn during the day but the bank examiners declared the institution was in safe and sound condition.
