THE EXCHANGES ORAN BANK TO BE LIQUIDATED VOLUNTARILY At the regular annual meeting of stockholders of the 1st National Bank of Oran held Tuesday of last week it was decided to place the bank in voluntary liquidation beginning Feb. 1st. The officers and directors of the bank have had this action under consideration for several months and have finally decided that the prospect of operating the bank at a profit is SO remote as to render it impractical to continue operation. After Jan. 31 the bank will discontinue receiving deposits and will confine its activities to the payment of checks drawn by its depositors and the collection of outstanding notes. Each depositor will be paid in full on demand. ROBBED BANK OF $200.00 Robbers recently dug their way through a three-foot wall with the aid of crowbars and other tools taken earlier in the night from the Wagner and Sons blacksmith shop and the Missouri Pacific R. R. Co. tool house in Blodgett and looted the Blodgett Bank of $200.00 in cash. The wall pierced was that of the vault. No attempt was made to force an entrance to the safe apparently. Entrance to the bank building was gained by breaking pane of glass in a rear door and then unfastening the latch. One year ago the bank was robbed of $1300.
