Peoples Bank, Maitland Is Closed by Directors Jefferson City, Mo., Sept. Another bank in Holt county was clostoday by its board of directors. following the closing of two at Mound City late last week. the state finance department was notified today. The closed institution. the People's Bank Maitland, had total resources of and deposits of $158,961 Its loans totaled $173,720 Capital stock was $20,000 and surplus $30,000. D. Gelvin is president and H. S. Cook Mills, a state bank examiner, has been directed to take charge. Mound City, where banks closlast week, is fourteen miles from Maitland. There is now one bank in each of the two towns. According to the editor of the Maitland Herald there has been no run on the Farmers Bank of Maitland, and none expected statement by Hooper, president of the Farmers Bank at noon day said there had been no withdrawand that as the bank had preparin advance for this situation it was an entirely satisfactory condition. Since the closing of the other bank five new stockholders have been added the Farmers Bank. All the
