EIGHTEENTH BANK FAILURE Jefferson City, April 23-The third bank failure of the present week and the eighteenth for 1927 was reported to State Finance Commissioner S. L. Cantley today, it being the Farmers Bank of Clarksdale. The bank was suspended by order of the board of directors according to the notification received here. State Bank Examiner S. L. Wonsettler has been sent there to take charge. The last statement of the bank made as of Nov. 22, 1926, showed loans of $162,550; due from other banks and bankers and cash on hand $29,100; capital of $10,000; surplus $5,000; deposits $181,956; bills payable and discounts $30,000; township deposits $9,436 and total resources $26,764.
