THE BUCKNER BANK. Will be Keorganized and Opened Up Again-A Compromise. The Buckner bank will be reorganised and at once started up for business, says the Independence Sentinel. This arrangement was made possible by an agreement reached between the parties in controversy late Saturday, and the president, T. G Hall, and other stockholders of the bank agreed to purchase the stock of Cashier Elling. The Bank of Buckner was organized two years ago, and a few shares less than onehalf the stock was subscribed by the farmers of the neighborhood, who are well-to-do-men and who are good basiness men. The affairs of the bank seemed to be getting along very nicely until a recent election of stockholders, when it developed that a share or two more than half, held by the cashier, Mr. Elling, controlled the board. Then there were bitter words and examinations of the books, and charges and counter charges, and the president and other stockholders of the bank went into court and asked for a receiver, and charged minappropriation of the funds of the bank. The attention of the secretary of state was called to the matter, and Special Examiner Gordon Jones was called in, and his examination resulted in the closing of the bank. This was the situation Saturday, when the president, Mr. Hall, and the stockholders and the representatives of the cashier, Mr. killing, all met in this city, and the stock held by the cashier was to be trans. ferred to the other stockholders. The main matter in dispute now having been settled, the suits will be dismissed and the bank reorganized and reopened. The bank is located in a most prosperous portion of this county, and has enjoyed a large patronage in proportion until the present troubles came up, when as a matter of course, the business fell off to a great extent. With the new organization and all the stock held by home men, the bank will reopen with prospects of excellent business. The new officers have not yet been agreed upon.
