BANK COULD'T COLLECT. And the State Bank Inspector Closed It-A Cleveland Failure. Bowling Green, Mo., April 1.-State Bank Inspector Austin has closed the Citizens' bank of this city. The bank is solvent and will be opened for business within sixty days. The cause of the trouble is that owing to the hard times it is impossible to collect. Cleveland, O., April 1.-George March was today appointed receiver for Adams, Jewett & Co., manufacturers of paper and flour bags. The liabilities are estimated to be about $300,000.

A Bowling Green Bank Closed. BOWLING GREEN, Mo., March 31. State Bank Inspector Austin closed the Citizens' Bank of this city this evening. It is understood that Geo. W. Emerson will be appointed receiver. The bank is solvent, and will be opened for business witnin sixty days. The cause of the trouble is that owing to the hard times it is impossible to collect.

For the benefit of the honorable but deluded editor of the above goldite organ we will recite the suspension of a few of the banks that have occurred during the present month: The American Exchange Bank of Buffalo, N. Y.; the Bank of Bartley, Nobraska; the First National Bank of Comanche, Texas; the Globe Savings bank of Chicago; the City National bank of Gatesville, Texas; the Citizeus' bank of Bowling Green, Mo. The editor of the Citizen should read up and do less talking through his bat.

Albertson, dealer in notions, at Hannibal, Mo., has made an assignment. The sheriff has closed the store of W. C. Bernardi, dealer in dry goods at Pittsburg, Pa. E.D.
