Stockers and Feeders: Fair demand and moderate supplies held prices steady fore part of the week. Choice lightweight finishing steers frequently reached $12 with the bulk above $11. few stock cows went at down, while thin heifers were scarce. Hogs Sharp frequent price changes featured the week. Values dropped to new low for the year on heavy deliveries. recovered when demand became extensive and finished mostly steady to 10c lower than a week ago Heavy butchers and all half fat de scriptions indicated the losses. The late top stood at $8.20 for 180 to 200 lb. weights. Most 170 to 240 lb. averages cleared at $7.90 to 8.15. The majority of 250 to 330 lb butchers made $7.65 to 7.85. Packing sows bulked at $6.75 to and smooth light weights reached $7.25 sparingly Desirable stocker and feeder pigs turned at $6 75 down. Sheep Fat lamb prices showed 20 to 30 advances compared with a week ago. Choice handyweight wooled western lambs topped at $15.70, the highest price attained since June last year. Most handyweight woolskins were turned from $15.50 to 15.60: while 98 to 192 lb. kinds cleared at $14.80 to 15. Fall clipped lambs were ted at $13.50 Feeding lambs sold up to $14.50. Yearlings and aged stock remained unchanged. choice wooled yearlings earned $13 to 13.50. hoice wooled wethers old at $11.25, and the majority of fat ewes moved at $9 to 9.25. with the latter price top. m. Sunday we continued on about 30 miles to Topleka. At 12 we pulled into Wichita, where we had lunch and feasted our eyes on what was once the great plains but now is a rich and prosperous farming country. For miles one look on great wheat fields and beautiful homes, modern in every way. When we reached Enid Okla., we realized that Kansas had nothing over this country. The wheat fields and the homes were equal in every respect to those around Wichita. Late in the evening we were at Arapaho, the county seat of Custer County, the home of sunshine and flowers. We are located on our farm about 1-2 mile north of Arapoha on the state highway No. 14. On Monday, Feb. 6. our boys started in school. There are about four hundred in at tendance. There was an epidemic of small pox and the boys were vaccinated the second day.
